Arizona

The "Valley of the Sun" has become a popular nickname for Phoenix and its adjacent suburbs – where sunshine dominates the weather more than 300 days a year. The allure of sunny dry heat and an even hotter economy has attracted enough residents to make this the sixth largest city in the nation, as well as a prime vacation destination.

Tucson, Arizona or “Old Pueblo” (as it was originally known) is a thriving southwestern desert community where over 440,000 people reside. By the year 2010, the county population is forecasted to reach one million residents. Two contributing factors influencing this growth are the University of Arizona and Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. Tourism is also a major contributor to Tucson’s prominence, with 10 percent of all jobs dedicated to the Tucson tourism industry. More

Antique Roadshow

The Antiques Road Show is extremely popular wherever it is held. Crowds well into the tens of thousands have been known to appear for this popular attraction; and for good reason.

Clean out the attic and you never now what treasures can be found. The Antiques Roadshow seeks out the larger convention centers across the United States.

We should soon have a list of stops for the next season of the Antiques Roadshow tour – so please bookmark us or add us to your "Favorites."

Last season began with 3 Shows from the Albuquerque Convention Center. During one of those shows, someone brought in a Tang Dynasty marble lion statue, with an insurance value topping $250,000.00. Wow!

"Every city has a story, and — as ANTIQUES ROADSHOW has discovered — the best storytellers often turn out to be objects brought in for appraisal. Each stop on ROADSHOW’s 2003 tour features unexpected finds that reveal local history — not to mention a veritable smorgasbord of items that speak volumes about hometowns all over the world." Alaska Convention Centers

While most people know Alaska came rather late to the statehood party, not many know Alaska was once a part of Russia. As Alaska’s largest city, Anchorage has a rich history, dating back to 3,000 B.C. when the first settlers arrived in the area. In the mid 1700s, the first Europeans arrived.

Those who know nothing of Birmingham and its surrounding areas often think it’s a place filled with steel mills, cotton fields and poor families. Today the reality is that Birmingham is a thriving metropolis and commercial center of the South.
